Organic greens superfood pre-workout

a pre-workout without the artificial sweeteners? without added sugars? without caffeine? YUP.

Being a fitness enthusiast, I love me some good pre-workout. A little pick-me-up first thing in the AM to get me going and a little treat as I start my day?? YES PLEASE. However, I quickly learned some things on my quest to find THE BEST pre-workout for my needs. My schooling in Health & Wellness taught me that most pre-workout supplements really weren’t necessary for the average American who works out (think more professional & Olympic athletes). So the simple thing was just to go the whole foods route, which is totally a great route (because it’s whole food!), but long-term I’ll be honest, it’s just not super convenient. If you ARE wanting to go that route, a piece of toast with peanut butter and some fruit on the side is a perfect pre-workout snack (about 30 min beforehand) to boost your energy levels in a sustainable way that doesn’t also spike your blood sugar which leads to a crash. But again, then I’d have to wake up earlier to get that prepped and eaten.

So next I tried the pre-workout for a company that I really love. However, it didn’t come without a cost. Over the course of a few years, I found that I, a workout loving gal, was all the sudden not motivated to workout in the mornings, or even get out of bed for the matter! Something was wrong. My nutrition hadn’t changed. My workout habits hadn’t changed. And then, through the whisperings of the Spirit, I realized with a thought that it was from the caffeine content of the powder. Over time, I had almost become “addicted” to this pre-workout. It had taken the place of my natural motivation and love of movement. Instead, I felt tired and sluggish. . . knowing that I would feel better after my “hit” of pre-workout juice. And it would work! But I didn’t like the fact that I know NEEDED it more than just wanting it.

So then came my hunt with my hubby to find a different powder that didn’t have the caffeine or sucralose (i.e. fake, unrecognizable by the body, sugar) content. Ooooooh man. That was nearly impossible. And then the pre-workouts we did find either were super expensive, OR, they had a ton of beta-alanine (you know, the stuff that gives you an itch 10 min after consuming???). I’ll be honest, at this point I just felt like giving up and there was no point searching for what didn’t exist.

BUT THEN.

I had a breakthrough moment. I realized - I like the fruity taste. I like the health benefits of increased blood flow and nutrient delivery. I just didn’t like “needed hit,” the fake sugar, and the itchy that made me feel like bugs were crawling all over my face! I realized - my Organic Superfoods Greens Powder would give me what I wanted without all the junk I didn’t want! It is sweetened with natural fruit and some stevia (which you can’t taste!), and has a vegetable profile that will blow your mind when you read over what’s in there and how much your body loves you for giving it what it needs!
